This house had the original wood windows that were single pane glass and not very energy efficient.  We removed the old wooden windows and installed new vinyl replacement windows.

Project Details

Our replacement windows are double-hung with low e/argon and meet all energy star requirements.  The new windows come with a half screen and poly foam wrapped frames to insulate the entire window in the opening.  Both top & bottom sashes tilt-in for ease of cleaning.  We also installed a picture window (does not open) in the center of two double-hung windows to give a big, clean, crisp view to the yard from the living room. All thirteen double-hung windows have GBG (grids between glass) which allows the homeowner to be able to clean the windows quickly, unlike the old wooden windows that you have to clean around the grids.

All of the replacement windows were installed from the outside of the home and a custom aluminum cap was bent on site and wrapped around the exterior frame to make them totally maintenance free.  The new replacement windows are called Grand Estates from Simonton Window Company.  We also installed two new storm doors.  One was on the front of the home and the other was on the back of the home.  Both storm doors were full-view doors and made by Anderson.  This job was completed in one day and all old material/trash was cleaned and hauled away with us when we left. Needless to say, this customer was extremely happy with the new windows and looks of the house!
